First Responder Care
We specialize in trauma-informed care, with a highly-trained team who focuses on supporting First Responders and their families.
We provide individual counseling to first responders with a focus on treating the unique experience of those on the front line. This specialized team also treats family members of first responders who experience their own unique stressors that come with a loved one in this line of work.
What is trauma?
Trauma is a psychological and emotional response to a distressing or life-threatening event. It can result from experiences such as abuse, violence, accidents, natural disasters, or any situation that overwhelms a person’s ability to cope. Trauma affects individuals differently—some may experience flashbacks, anxiety, emotional numbness, or difficulties in relationships. While trauma can have lasting effects on mental and physical well-being, healing is possible through therapy, support, and self-care. Vermont Wellness provides compassionate, evidence-based approaches to help individuals process and recover from traumatic experiences.

She/Her
My name is Kylee, I was born and raised in Vermont. I grew up in a first responder family and continue the tradition of being a first responder as a firefighter with a local department. Having the experience of being a first responder and growing up in a first responder family has given me a strong desire to work with this population. There is much trauma that comes from working as a first responder and I am dedicated to helping you and your family members through that trauma. I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and believe it is an incredible tool when working with trauma. I, also, have experience working with pregnant/parenting women with substance abuse and mental health issues having spent 8 years working for a residential treatment facility specializing in this population. I believe in a client driven practice where I am there to guide you and offer you treatment advice but ultimately this is your therapy not mine.

they/them
There is a lot of power in being with someone as they wade through an experience. I believe in connection as a guide, an anchor that can give someone a sense of togetherness even when faced with regular messages of being alone. When we are with someone who sees us, we can open a little more.
A recent graduate in clinical mental health counseling, I am a pre-licensed therapist at Vermont Wellness. I have a background in working with college-age and middle school students, both locally and abroad. My passion is in supporting queer and trans youth. I resonate with and use cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and aspects of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) in my work. I value adaptive approaches with my clients, adjusting to work with a person based on what speaks to them. Early on in my practice as a mental health student, my instinct was to ask questions in order to solve or fix. With time, I have more deeply understood that the value is not in solving or fixing, but in the unfolding. Wherever you find yourself, connection can be an instigator. I'm here to help open that doorway, recognizing that the path we go down gets to be one of your design and of your choosing.
